Within the framework of the Open Monument Days, the Brussels City Archives present the living space of the 1950s that reflects the changes of society and of people’s mindset occurring at the time.
The exhibition illustrates everyday life in Brussels with such varied documents as photographs, press articles and posters bearing witness of the last moments of a certain urban sociability that got swept off a few years later by television and the expansion of the city. Read more...

Anno Expo, Mechelen
From June 21st to September 14th, you can re-experience the swinging Fifties in Mechelen! At the centre of the Anno-Expo programme are two exhibitions held respectively at the Lamot and the Cultuurcentrum Mechelen. Numerous other summer events will make Mechelen as vibrating a city as it was during the Expo 58!

Expo 58 en de gouden jaren
